Loose ends hiding in
kitchen drawers
(performance duration: 25 min)
wooden platform, glazed ceramics, silkscreen print on shirt, sound
Loose ends hiding in kitchen drawers is a text-based performance and a site-specific installation which guides the audience into a non-linear narrative that unfolds a self, suspended in the crevice between the pressing body of memory and a yearning that continuously flexes its course. Oscillating from the vantage point of the subject being observed to the gaze of the objectifier, the work delves into the fraught tensions that sometimes intersect love and violence.
The documentation of this performance was distilled into a soundscape. In collaboration with Antwerp-based musician and sound engineer Sam D’hondt, we composed an audio piece featuring a studio-recorded rendition of the performed script with sounds captured during the performance.
